Just some stuff to show that cartoons aren't the only thing you gotta draw to get better at artwork.
the first sketches are 2 minute foot and hand life drawing gestures. They are my personal favorite things to life draw.
then theres a perspective scene sketch thats unfinished, and a hour long portrait sketch from a photo, kinda off but it mostly shows how I render.
Then just a page that shows how I used "S curves" in my sketches, which are very messy but show alot of action.

I am curious. Where do you get the references for the top stuff? You ask someone to pose for you, or something else? Because I need to start life drawing again like there is no tomorrow, but I got nothing and nobody to draw off of. And I hate using photos. It's just not the same, fff.

well I'm at an art college called SVA, so we have a direct life drawing class, its 6 hours of drawing from a model. tis awesome!
Most colleges offer life drawing coarses though, even community colleges, id look into one, they are SO helpful!

Hahah, I'm actually in an art college; AAART in Chicago. I hate it. So much. I'm actually dropping out at the end of this semester. Hah.

I only had 1 year of life drawing. Which was a year and a half ago. Since then, we don't learn to draw. At all. At the moment, the closest class I have to drawing is a class that teaches Adobe program basics without a tablet. The only thing that class has taught me is why so many traditional artists say that people who paint in Photoshop don't know how to draw, hnng. So yeah, I wanna get the fuck out of there as soon as I can, lol. Especially since next year doesn't look much better.

Oh DAMN! that sucks D8 yea I would either look into taking one or just asking people to pose, besides being awkward though that works, we all model for each other sometimes (me an my classmates) if they are willing to stand still long enough hahaha

Fff, yeah it does, especially when the last two art teachers I've had (oil painting and illustration) have done nothing but tell me everything I do is wrong/I don't know how to draw.

I'll probably end up asking my brother to pose for me next time I see him, I dunno, I'm not really friends enough with anyone at school to ask them to do some out-of-class life drawing with me, fff.
